Ready, Set, Jet!

I have been subscribed to VeganCuts monthly Snack box for years, (see?) But this was my 1st Beauty Box.
Another book came in the mail today. Who needs Christmas when you have Amazon, right? I'm asked so often, "What are you reading?" That I should feature it as a weekly blog post! (As if!) Honestly I've been really busy with work lately so I have been falling into bed like the dead, with no time to read. #WTF Sad, right? But when I do get a bit of a break I'm happily reading anything in my new stack. I don't have much time to read, but I can still order books, lol #TreasuresFromAmazon Currently I'm reading a wonderful book on Japanese Prints. Ms. Harris, as you may recall, wrote the novels the True Blood television saga was based on. I love her twist on southern life (and death) and her characters. Life in the South is very different and usually is portrayed rather lackluster, but her characters really jump off the page! This is her newest narrative taking place not in Louisiana, as the Sookie Stackhouse mysteries did, but in Texas. I heard a rumor that it is being filmed as a new mini series. I googled and look here - it's being filmed right up the street from me! Can't wait to see it. In the meantime the 3rd book (thats the 2nd book pictured) has just been released. Amazon is shipping it right now... The other book I'm reading is on Japanese Prints. It is a lovely illustrated book I am so glad to add to my collection. I have a good size assortment of art books, mostly the old masters and impressionist art with a few "art theory" books thrown in for good measure, lol. But sadly not much about Eastern Art, other than museum guides. So what are you reading? And how many books do you usually read at once?
I'm so swamped with work I will need another vacation soon, lol. I'm got a few short trips planned for March that I can't wait to share with you. In the meantime I'm gonna read and catch up on my sleep. See you at the airport- Hi, How are You? It's been awhile since I reviewed a new product, so I was thinking, since I'm always hungry (true story) and always excited to try new things, I thought I should share my findings with you today. But first the Disclaimer - I'm not a food blogger. I'm a hungry vegan.... If you are expecting glorious food pictures, decorated with flowers and tiny bits of glitter, move on..you won't be happy here. I'm just a girl who likes to travel and eat. I bought this item and decided to cook today. Perhaps my experience will be different from yours, perhaps not. Okay, so who wants pancakes?? Here is what happened next: They were a HUGE Hit. I served them with Organic Maple Syrup and wow.
Just wow! I can also report that I had no heavy or bloated feeling afterward. Everyone ate their fill and we still had a few left and when asked, all voted this to the "buy again" list. #score Now remember, I didn't use eggs, I replaced them with the Neategg. I didn't use milk at all, it was replaced with water. The butter was replaced with olive oil and the pancakes were fried in coconut oil. So I barely followed the instructions at all, lol! Pros: Flavor was good, the mix was easy and everyone liked them. I think these would be great for a day when I have company and they want a more "traditional" breakfast than Vegan Nice Cream, which is my personal "breakfast of choice". This, plus veggie sausage, fruit and fried tofu would make a huge, traditional breakfast that would please anyone. I recommend this as a staple to keep on hand for guest or for when you want a breakfast change. Cons: I would not eat them often, as I do not consider them particularly healthy. Also even if I could get two or three meals out of a box.....that's a lot of money for pancakes. Have you tried them before? Or do you eat them regularly? I'd love to hear what you think. I will buy another box and keep in pantry for guests or that odd breakfast. I'm gonna try some of the other products this company makes and will report back on them. Catch you later I still have pancakes to eat~ Continuing on the "30 Day Challenge"~ Were did we leave off? (If you want to see more of this Challenge Click here) Day 17: A Colour - Hmm, This one is tough, too. I like colour. I like bold, strong colours that liven up spaces and create moods. I don’t have a “favorite” colour per say, as I like different colours for different things. Right now I’m all about dark cobalt blue for the new house. I’ve had this set of large, glass vases for many years and no where to really display them. I love how the house has so many interesting areas and angles, the eye is continuously drawn up. I also like to use this colour all over the house. It’s so pretty when sprinkled around as accents, glass items or pottery. And of course it's lovely on handpainted lamps! Love, love, love them! I also have Deflt Danish pottery on my list of “must buy” for this summer’s Europe trip. I so regret not purchasing any when I was last in Norway, but I had no time to arrange shipping to the states. Day 18: A Luxury - My whole life is a luxury, lol! If I had to narrow it down I would say the garden tub. It’s a luxury to take long soaks (with organic bubble bath) in front of the fireplace on a cold night. And also please note it is NOT the same fireplace as in the lounge. They are both 2 sided fireplaces, giving me instead of two, but four views of the fire. A big luxury I love. Look at those bubbles! :D Back view :D Picture below is the 2nd fireplace in the downstairs lounge. Day19: A Piece of Equipment: Since we are staying with the house theme…. Day 20: Something that has made your life easier: My “Apple” Collection of course! These items make my life so much easier. I am able to travel and stay in touch with my family and work. I am able to produce more, sell more and stay connected to my clients because of all the tech. These items allow me to live my life on my terms, not chained to a desk.. And of course the trusty iphone. How did we ever live without these??
I think that's enough about me for today. Is anyone else trying this challenge? I'd love to read your responses, so let me know. Catch you later- Okay lets see what the next few days were supposed to be on this challenge. Day 13 - Your Drink of choice: Oh fuck! I'm boring as they come! Okay on to Day 14 - a delicious meal: As a Vegan this is a no brainer. Everything I eat is delicious! But fresh, made to order Nice Cream is one of my favorite breakfast meals. This is banana, peanut butter cacao with walnuts and coconut and it tastes AMAZING! Day 15 - A delicious dessert: So many goodies, so little time! But actually this one is easy too. Pictured is a large homemade vegan Reese's peanut butter cup. It may not look all that good, but it tastes AMAZING! It is SUPER simple to make and has no sugar or artificial ingredients at all. We never buy candy EVER. I made Vegan Fudge, Pies, Candy, etc. There are so many great recipes on line and I even post my recipes here too. Hit the “Vegan” Tag on the left if you want to know more.
But I’m telling you, there is no reason to eat crap food. None. Catch you later- |
